Forbidden City Wallpaper Collection by Coordonné

Forbidden City Wallpaper Collection by Coordonné

A collection that journeys through the golden age of imperial China, drawing on the Chang'an Forbidden Park and the legendary Forbidden City in Beijing — vast palace complexes created by generations of Chinese emperors spanning the Tang and Ming dynasties. Behind those great purple walls, the gilded rooftops, ornamental gardens, cranes, pheasants and flowering plum trees that inspired this collection still feel mysterious and alive.

Designs range from Tang Walk — courtly ladies in procession through an oriental garden — to Sacred Pheasants with its hand-painted birds among kintsugi-lined flowers, and Ming Pagoda, where cranes and koi carp inhabit a serene landscape. Statement murals including the watercolour Xi Hu Lake, Spring Festival and Heron's Poetry bring the collection's most sweeping scenes to life at full scale. The palette moves between soft, ancient colours and richer jewel tones — a collection that brings genuine cultural depth and quiet grandeur to any room it inhabits. Produced by Coordonné in Barcelona on high-quality non-woven.

How many rolls do I need?

Use the wallpaper calculator, or "How many rolls do I need?" on any product page, which allows for the pattern repeat. Order all your rolls together so they come from the same batch.

Can I order a sample?

Yes. Most papers have a sample, usually A4, and up to 6 samples are delivered free. A sample is the best way to check colour and texture in your own room.

Why does the batch number matter?

Rolls from different production batches can vary slightly in shade. Rolls ordered together always come from one batch; if you're topping up an earlier order, add its batch number on the product page and we'll match it.

Can I return wallpaper?

Most unused rolls can be returned: tell us within 14 days of delivery and send them back within 30. Some brands charge a 25% restocking fee on returns made after 14 days. Papers that are printed or made to order, and murals, can't be returned. Each product page tells you which applies.

How long will delivery take?

Every product page shows its own delivery time and an estimated arrival date. Delivery is free on UK mainland orders over £90; Northern Ireland, the Highlands and islands are charged at checkout.

Do you offer trade accounts?

Yes, for interior designers, decorators and commercial projects. Find out about trade accounts.
