Good to know

How much fabric do I need?

It depends on the window or furniture and on the pattern repeat, which is given on every product page. Your curtain maker or upholsterer will give you an exact figure; order it all at once so it comes from the same batch and arrives as one continuous length.

Can I order a sample?

Yes. Most fabrics have a sample, and up to 6 samples are delivered free. Samples show the colour and the weave, though not always the full pattern repeat.

Can fabric be returned?

Fabric is cut to order for you, so it can't be cancelled or returned. That's why we always suggest ordering a sample first.

How long will delivery take?

Every product page shows its own delivery time and an estimated arrival date. Delivery is free on UK mainland orders over £100; Northern Ireland, the Highlands and islands are charged at checkout.

Do you offer trade accounts?

Yes, for interior designers, decorators and commercial projects. Find out about trade accounts.

Outdoor Fabric

Outdoor fabric is made to take sunlight, damp and hard use without fading or going soft. It is ideal for garden furniture, seat pads and cushions on a terrace, and just as useful indoors in a conservatory or a room that gets strong afternoon light. Many of the designs here are made for indoor and outdoor use alike, so a garden scheme can carry through to the room beside it.

Harlequin offers Indoor Outdoor Weaves II, Sanderson has Indoor Outdoor Prints and Morris & Co brings its patterns outside with Outdoor-Performance. Clarke & Clarke offers Alfesco Indoor Outdoor and Emma J Shipley Indoor Outdoor Wild Escape, and Coordonné adds Shibori Outdoor and Ikart Outdoor.

Outdoor ratings vary, so check the product details for light fastness, water resistance and care notes before you order. Even a hard-wearing outdoor fabric lasts longer if cushions are brought in or covered over winter, and it is worth using fillings made for outdoor use too. Stripes, checks and bold botanicals all look at home in a garden.
