Boråstapeter Wallpaper

Founded in 1905 by Waldemar Andrén in the town of Borås, in the south west of Sweden, Boråstapeter is the country's oldest and best loved wallpaper house. It was built on a rather democratic idea, that every home deserved beautiful walls, and more than a century later it still prints in Sweden, drawing on an archive of more than ten thousand designs, with water-based inks and renewable energy.

Our bestselling Boråstapeter collection is Borosan Hem, which pairs small-scale patterns such as the ditsy floral Viktoria and the paisley Sonja with textured plains made to partner them. Close behind is a collaboration, Gotain x Boråstapeter, whose Sweet Pea pattern is surface printed for a matte, hand-painted character. Nordic Folk is rooted in the heritage of Nordic folk art, reimagined in rich colours and intricate patterns, and Fairyland gathers sixteen hand-painted wallpapers inspired by the sea, the forest, the night sky and the world of fairy tales.

The newest arrivals look to the archive. Flowers brings together thirteen floral designs, from the pencil drawn blooms of Zinnia to the dense 1940s meadow of Vildflora, while Herrgård is a tribute to Swedish manor house life, with the chinoiserie branches of Sophia Magdalena and the pastoral scenic of Alnarp. Graphics moves the other way, into clean motifs and brightly coloured statements.

For classic Swedish charm, Timeless Traditions reinterprets florals and folk references with a light touch, Adorn moves between continental elegance and Nordic simplicity, and Woodland brings in tall pines, berries and ferns. Scandinavian Designers II puts patterns by Arne Jacobsen, Stig Lindberg and the Jobs sisters on the wall, and Icons gathers the brand's most beloved designs. For quieter walls, Shades offers 40 single-colour wallpapers with a warm canvas texture, and for children's rooms there is Newbie, a collaboration with the Swedish childrenswear brand.
