Coordonné was founded in Barcelona in 1978, and it has been family-run ever since. Today the brand distributes to over 35 countries, holds B Corp certification, and produces one of the most genuinely varied wallpaper ranges we've come across. This isn't a brand that found one aesthetic and stayed with it. Their catalogue moves between large-scale scenic murals, pattern rooted in global craft traditions, and eco-conscious natural fibre textures, with a consistent level of quality and intention running through all of it.
We've been working through the Coordonné range over the past few weeks and we're still adding collections as the catalogue is substantial. Here's an introduction to the brand and the designs that stood out.
Murals that command a room
Coordonné has been producing large-scale scenic murals for years, and the experience shows. Their chinoiserie and Japanese-inspired work has a painterly looseness that's hard to achieve at scale — the kind of quality that comes from genuinely understanding the source material. Edo Subtle Pink is a romantic composition of peacocks, peonies and branches in a blush and ivory palette. Lotus Spring takes a bolder direction with richer greens and larger botanical forms. Both work as full-room scenic statements or on a single feature wall.
The range extends well beyond chinoiserie. Xi Hu Lake in Jade is a more formal, architectural mural with a deep imperial green palette — striking and considered in equal measure. Kodo Maca is looser and more abstract, with organic forms in warm naturals that feel almost woven.
Pattern with a real point of view
What distinguishes Coordonné's repeat patterns is that they feel considered rather than assembled. Their Victorian-influenced botanical range looks back at the Arts and Crafts tradition with genuine affection. Clover Red has the graphic density and confident repeat of the great botanical wallpapers, but with something warmer and more Iberian in the palette. Twig Green is quieter, a branching botanical repeat in an earthy, verdant green that sits comfortably in a traditional interior or somewhere more eclectic. Both link naturally to the botanical wallpaper tradition at its best.
Their North African-inspired geometric work draws from an entirely different tradition, using patterns from the Berber craft heritage of Morocco and the Maghreb. The Tifinagh Script in Bone uses the ancient Tifinagh alphabet as a repeating motif — real graphic confidence in a restrained, near-neutral palette. The Azilal Embroidery in Clay takes its reference from traditional Moroccan hand-stitched textile work. These feel genuinely rooted, and they work in rooms where you want substance without strong colour.
The Rif Relief in Stone has an almost tactile quality, its geometric forms suggesting carved stone or woven cloth. The Beldi Rugs Leaves is more decorative, layering geometric structure with botanical motifs in a way that feels both traditional and current. Both hold their own in spaces where heavier pattern might feel too much.
Natural texture, done properly
One of the things that impressed us most about Coordonné is how seriously they've approached the challenge of natural-look wallcovering. Their eco-conscious textured designs replicate the appearance of woven raffia with real accuracy, using a vinyl composition that gives you the warmth and handcrafted feel of natural fibre with far better washability and fire resistance than the real material can offer.
Zigzagueo has a zigzag weave that catches the light gently. Espiguilla gives you a herringbone-style texture that reads as calm and considered across a large wall. Cañizo in Brown is the warmest of the three, adding depth without going dark. These are the designs to reach for when you want a room to feel layered and settled rather than simply decorated.
Why Coordonné?
A few things set Coordonné apart from other brands at a comparable price point. The breadth of what they make is one — very few wallpaper brands can move credibly between chinoiserie murals, North African geometric pattern, Victorian botanicals and eco-conscious natural textures within the same catalogue, all at a consistent standard. The B Corp certification is another. Coordonné has been independently verified as meeting high standards across environmental impact, worker welfare and community engagement. For a family business operating since 1978, it reflects a genuine commitment to doing things well at every level, not just in the design studio.
We're still adding their collections to the site as the range is large, so it's worth checking back as more arrives. Browse everything currently available on the Coordonné collection page, alongside painterly scenic wallpaper, botanical designs and modern wallpaper from across our full range.
