A collaboration born from a simple question: what happens when creativity flows from unproductive moments? Coordonné invited ten Year 2 BA Textile Design students from Central Saint Martins to explore the theme of rest — identifying quiet places, slow moments and personal retreats, and translating that stillness into wallpaper and murals.
The results are as varied as the students themselves. Martha Ashby's Dungeness mural captures the golden light of the Kent shingle beach, drawing on Eric Ravilious and Derek Jarman's garden. Lâl Yilmaz's Bike Ride repeat weaves folk art and Persian miniature painting into a joyful, narrative pattern. Arizona Forde's Timeless Stones finds beauty in the unique texture and individuality of rock. Each of the ten designs carries its own quiet sense of place and personal meaning — a genuinely rare thing in a wallpaper collection.
