A collection with genuine provenance behind every design. History Papers draws inspiration from rock carvings, stencilled walls and Georgian damask, with archive designs sourced from the V&A and the American Museum & Gardens in Bath — including Georgia, based on a bold Georgian wallpaper discovered in a derelict Brentford building in 1966 by Philip Jebb and later donated to the V&A, from which Lewis & Wood hold special permission to reproduce it.
Translated onto fabric — primarily wide-width linen — these are designs with real weight and character, scaled generously and printed with the screen-printing craft that Lewis & Wood has perfected at their Gloucestershire mill since 1993. For curtains and soft furnishings where the history of a pattern matters as much as how it looks.
