Harlequin Wallpaper
Founded in Britain in 1960, Harlequin is the colour-loving house of the Sanderson Design Group. Where its stablemates Sanderson and Morris & Co tend the great English archives, Harlequin has always been the bold, contemporary one: large-scale florals, graphic geometrics and finishes that catch the light, all drawn with a full and fearless palette.
The newest arrival is Signature, a celebration of the brand's most cherished designs in updated colours and scales, and the first Harlequin collection to include super wide murals, in Flores, Grounded and Minako. It comes in matching fabric too. Zamora brings Jacobean-influenced pattern and rich, layered colour, while Colour draws on the natural world, with exotic birds in vibrant plumage among its designs.
For texture and shimmer, Momentum 5 mixes geometrics, stripes and glass-beaded finishes, Purity Edit layers tonal designs with metallic accents, and Textured Walls offers hard-wearing wide-width vinyls, a good choice for hallways and busy family rooms. Palmetto looks back to 1920s glamour, with cranes in flight, feathers and dragonflies, and Idyllic pairs Art Deco touches with garden-inspired prints.
Harlequin also works with some of the most distinctive names in design. The chinoiserie of Diane Hill, the marbled and woodgrain textures of Henry Holland and the exuberant colour of Sophie Robinson each have a collection of their own.
Read more about the house in our guide, Harlequin: A Coat of Many Colours, and finish the scheme with Harlequin fabric. Colour is the one thing a screen never quite gets right, so we always suggest ordering a sample first.
