Good to know

How much fabric do I need?

It depends on the window or furniture and on the pattern repeat, which is given on every product page. Your curtain maker or upholsterer will give you an exact figure; order it all at once so it comes from the same batch and arrives as one continuous length.

Can I order a sample?

Yes. Most fabrics have a sample, and up to 6 samples are delivered free. Samples show the colour and the weave, though not always the full pattern repeat.

Can fabric be returned?

Fabric is cut to order for you, so it can't be cancelled or returned. That's why we always suggest ordering a sample first.

How long will delivery take?

Every product page shows its own delivery time and an estimated arrival date. Delivery is free on UK mainland orders over £100; Northern Ireland, the Highlands and islands are charged at checkout.

Cushion Fabric

Cushion fabric is where you can be bolder than on a whole sofa or a pair of curtains. A strong print, a rich velvet or a colour you would not live with across a room all work beautifully on a cushion, and a few in a contrasting pattern bring a scheme together. Cushions also need only a small amount of fabric, which makes them a lovely way to try a design.

Clarke & Clarke offers a vast choice, from Northwood to Lustro. Sanderson has Country Woodland and Dorton Velvets, Harlequin brings exuberant colour with Amazilia, and Scion adds graphic charm with Oakham and Pomona. For pattern with heritage, Morris & Co is hard to beat.

On a large-scale design, think about which part of the pattern you want centred on each cushion, as this can mean ordering a little more. Cushions that are leant on every day benefit from a sturdier weave, so the rub test result in the product details is worth a glance. For a garden bench or window seat, choose an outdoor or performance fabric instead.
