Good to know

How much fabric do I need?

It depends on the window or furniture and on the pattern repeat, which is given on every product page. Your curtain maker or upholsterer will give you an exact figure; order it all at once so it comes from the same batch and arrives as one continuous length.

Can I order a sample?

Yes. Most fabrics have a sample, and up to 6 samples are delivered free. Samples show the colour and the weave, though not always the full pattern repeat.

Can fabric be returned?

Fabric is cut to order for you, so it can't be cancelled or returned. That's why we always suggest ordering a sample first.

How long will delivery take?

Every product page shows its own delivery time and an estimated arrival date. Delivery is free on UK mainland orders over £100; Northern Ireland, the Highlands and islands are charged at checkout.

Do you offer trade accounts?

Yes, for interior designers, decorators and commercial projects. Find out about trade accounts.

Blind Fabric

Blind fabric wants enough body to hold a crisp fold and enough weight to sit flat against the window. Mid-weight cottons, linens and weaves usually do this best, which is why they fill much of this page. The fabrics here suit both roller and Roman blinds unless stated otherwise on the product.

Clarke & Clarke offers a wide range including Allure and Lustro. Sanderson has prints and weaves in Pinetum Prints and Tuscany II Weaves, and Harlequin brings bold colour with Sgraffito II. For checks and stripes that look especially neat in a Roman fold, see Scion and its Central Checks & Stripes, and for prints with a decorative history, Anna French and Palampore.

A Roman blind shows a pattern in horizontal bands, so think about where the motif will fall on each fold. Very heavy or very loose weaves can be harder to make up neatly, and a lining helps a blind hang flat and keeps out more light. Check the product details for weight, width and repeat before ordering.
