Watercolour Wallpaper
Watercolour wallpaper captures the soft washes and gently bleeding colour of a painting on paper. It brings a light, artistic hand to florals, stripes, skies and landscapes, and it is one of the gentlest ways to introduce pattern to a room.
Caselio's Painted Line from Mix & Stripes softens the classic stripe with a watercolour effect and gently irregular lines. Mulberry Home's Icons has Morning Gallop, horses moving through a bright landscape in a watercolour style. Boråstapeter paint some of their prettiest designs this way: Fairies, from Fairyland, is hand-painted in watercolour, its beech foliage hiding a magical world, and Treasured carries Treasured Thistle in rich blues and greens. Villa Nova's Twinkle Twinkle from Picturebook II sets metallic stars over a soft painterly wash, and Eijffinger's Roots includes a watercolour leaf mural of large painted fronds.
Because the colour is soft and the edges loose, watercolour papers suit bedrooms, children's rooms and any space where you want pattern without weight.
For more painterly designs, see artful wallpaper and abstract wallpaper, or pair a watercolour bloom with our wider floral wallpaper. Skies painted in washes are gathered in cloud wallpaper.
