Botanical Wallpaper
Botanical wallpaper is about the plant rather than the bloom. Leaves, stems, branches and grasses carry the design, so the effect is fresh and green rather than flowery, and it brings a calm, garden feel to a living room, bedroom or study.
Morris designs are at the heart of it. William Morris at Home's AW26 collection reworks Acorn, a pretty symmetrical pattern of oak leaves and acorns, and Bird & Pomegranate, with birds swooping among branches and leaves. Morris & Co's Pure collection simplifies Willow Bough into a softer three-colour palette. Sanderson's Arboretum brings back Woodland Chorus, one of the brand's best known wallpapers, and Highgrove celebrates the classic beauty of the Highgrove estate. For a more contemporary hand, the Clarissa Hulse AW26 collection includes Meadow Grass, with strands of grass moving across an ombre background, and Summer Border, a tangle of grasses, teasels and seedheads.
To narrow it down, try trailing leaves, all-over leaf wallpaper or trees and twigs. Lusher, larger foliage lives under tropical wallpaper, and there are botanical wall murals and botanical fabric too.
